Workers Compensation insurers have dedicated claims teams and allocate a Case Manager to each Insured.

Insurer Case Managers are busy, many typically will be managing 200-300 claims at any one time for numerous employers. These claims volumes often result in the ‘claims management’ function becoming more of a logistics exercise than a strategic approach to minimising claims cost (i.e the Case Manager becomes purely focused on ensuring medical expenses are paid, wages are reimbursed, doctor appointments and rehab sessions arranged etc.)
